Updates

The new updates system in Damnations Developments, breaks the site down into categories, each category has its own todo list.

When I post an update I select which part of the site has been updated, whereas before I would randomly name the part of Damnations Developments that was update.

After the new update has been posted I then go along and edit the updates list, updating or adding the new todo item into the system. Ideally I’ll have previously added the todo. The update will consist of the current status of completion; this is represented in a percentage.

On top of all that, I’ve also added a new section, this is a detailed breakdown of what I’ve done in the update. In some cases I won’t be able to go into too much detail due to site security reasons, for example the accounts system, I can’t give too much information out about how the encryption is handled.

The upside to the system is that it will allow me to keep track of my updates outside the top of my source files, allowing me to see in detail what I’ve done, this will come in handy in the future for a tutorials system as I’ll be able to look back on what I’ve done and develop tutorials for others based on my work, including an explanation on how to create site encryption.
